ZAVRŠILA JE PRVA AKTIVNOST PROJEKTA IZ PROGRAMA EUROPSKIH SNAGA SOLIDARNOSTI
Prva aktivnost ovogodišnjeg projekta iz programa Europskih snaga solidarnosti je završila. Uz pomoć 11 volontera uspješno je očišćena površina creta Jarak ponad Sošica te dva prilaza izvorima u Keserima i Liješću. Osim terenskog rada, volonteri su u Posjetiteljskom centru Sošice naučili i kako pravilno održavati ovakva vrijedna staništa te odradili i dodatne aktivnosti koje smo popratili fotografijama. Očuvanje staništa jedan je od primarnih ciljeva JU “Park prirode Žumberak – Samoborsko gorje”. Sekundarnom sukcesijom i negativnim demografskim trendom nestaju staništa poput travnjaka, lokvi i drugih manjih staništa važnih za biološku raznolikost i najugroženije vrste flore i faune. Uz pomoć JU i lokalnog stanovništva, ova je volonterska aktivnost pomogla u održavanju staništa, a dobivenim rezultatima JU može izraditi bolji plan upravljanja i očuvati više staništa potrebnih za životni ciklus mnogih ugroženih biljaka i životinja od kojih su neke ugrožene NATURA 2000 vrste. Sveukupna vrijednost projekta, koji traje od 1.6. do 30.11. 2023., iznosi 23.320 € te je sufinancirana sredstvima Europske Unije.______The first activity of this year’s project within the European Solidarity Corps program finished successfully. With the help of 11 volunteers, the area of Jarak fen above Sošice and two paths to natural wells in Keseri and Liješće were successfully cleaned. In addition, the volunteers at the Sošice Visitor Center also learned how to properly maintain such valuable habitats and did additional activities that we accompanied with photos. Habitat conservation is one of the primary goals of the PI “Žumberak – Samoborsko gorje Nature Park”. Through secondary succession and a negative demographic trend, habitats such as grasslands, ponds and other smaller habitats important for biological diversity and the most endangered species of flora and fauna are disappearing. With the help of Nature Park employees and the local population, this volunteer activity helped to maintain the habitat, and with the results obtained, PI can create a better management plan and preserve more habitats necessary for the life cycle of many endangered plants and animals, some of which are endangered NATURA 2000 species. The overall value of the project, which lasts from June 1st til November 30th, is €23,320 and is co-financed by the European Union.
